For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Caracas Beach and Sun Bay Beach. Explore hidden gems such as La Chiva and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Secret Beach, take a leisurely stroll along Malecon, get great views at Puerto Ferro Lighthouse, and delve into the distant past at El Hombre de Puerto Ferro.

Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Isla de Vieques trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.
