With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
On the 29th (Wed), kick back and relax at Brava Beach and then examine the collection at Museo Historico de Culebra. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 30th (Thu): kick back and relax at Carlos Rosario Beach, thenkick back and relax at Playa Punta Soldado Beach, and then kick back and relax at Melones Beach.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Sat): take in the waterfront at Malecon and then enjoy the sand and surf at Sun Bay Beach. On the next day, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, thendon't miss a visit to Puerto Ferro Lighthouse, and then enjoy the sand and surf at La Chiva.

You can fly from Rincon to Isla de Vieques in 4.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of car, shuttle, and ferry. On the 3rd (Mon), tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa La Pared, thenenjoy the sand and surf at Monserrate Beach, and then make a trip to Holocaust Memorial Monument. Keep things going the next day: delve into the lush surroundings at La Marquesa Forest Park, thenpause for some photo ops at Plazuela La Rogativa, thenexamine the collection at Museo del Mar, and finally pause for some photo ops at Plaza de Colon.
