Start off your visit on the 11th (Tue): kick back and relax at Playa Crashboat, tour the pleasant surroundings at Domes Beach, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 14th (Fri), take in the waterfront at Malecon, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa La Chiva, and then kick back and relax at Playa Pata Prieta.
