In the Abbey, feel the pulse of history by standing where the last Anglo-Saxon ruler, King Harold, was slain. Walking distance from the train station- 20 mins. Nice little stroll. Excellent commentary and audio guide for knowing the seeds of legacy of the monarchs of United Kingdom. It takes time - about an hour- but the walk around the site will give you an idea as to how it was during those days. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The exhibition is well displayed and informative. Kids will be excited by the interactive sessions. It did rain when we were walking around the grounds, no shelter - so better take a brolly. The exhibition upstairs is also very good but I guess it is under process of completing. Once fine, I'm sure it'll be great,!! In the earlier visit, we did see the enactment of the Battle of Hastings each side representing King Harold and King William - that was a while ago!! But the visit itself was very good, and kids, I'm sure, will enjoy who are interested to know the history as well the foundations of the Kingdom's monarchs.
