Stroll through an elevated oasis of greenery amidst steel and concrete at Crossrail Place Roof Garden, rooftop public gardens covered by a timber lattice glass roof. Stretching in a giant glass tube for more than 300 m (984 ft), this densely planted site features trees and plants with many seating areas and pavilions. Lovely place to get away, see something green and relax for a bit. Quite peaceful actually and so many nice plants to see. At the moment there are free dance classes and there is a neat little machine which selects and prints out short stories for you. I'd recommend get your story, find a bench, have a read and enjoy some quiet time.
Wonderful oasis of calm in the heart of the city. (At least on a Sunday?) Love the idea of the West/East split of the planting as it straddles the meridian. The structure sits atop the shops and canary wharf docklands station and from certain angles looks like something from a star trek space dock, certainly one of the more impressive modern tfl stations!
