Greenwich, London

4.7
The birthplace of many of the Tudor dynasty's most famous family members, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, Greenwich is also known for its maritime history. A preserved clipper ship called the Cutty Sark sits in a dry dock by the river. The National Maritime Museum forms an arcade around the Queen's house not far from the Royal Palace of Placentia. Georgian and Victorian architecture fills the town center, where a covered market draws shoppers throughout the year. Make your first stop the Greenwich visitor center. The helpful staff will provide you with suggestions, brochures, and a comprehensive history of the royal borough. To visit Greenwich on your trip to London, use our London road trip planning site.

  • The garden was really lovely with beautifully curated flower beds and there were lots of squirrels roaming around the grounds. Took a few pictures at the GMT line, walked up a hill within the garden.....  more »
  • We enjoyed our visit. Easy underground ride from the West end to the O2 and then took a bus to the attractions. Great to do the walk under the Thames, and visit some of the museum and attractions.  more »
