The London Wall was the defensive wall first built by the Romans around Londinium, their strategically important port town on the River Thames in what is now London, England, and subsequently maintained until the 18th century.Plan my London trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.
It is now the name of a road in the City of London running along part of the course of the old wall between Wormwood Street and the Rotunda junction where St. Martin's Le Grand meets Aldersgate Street. Until the later Middle Ages, the wall defined the boundaries of the City of London.

Take your picture with Trajan and read the panels. If you're seeing the Tower, this is an easy pick-up site along the way and gives you some sense of the scope of time associated with this ground. Easily done while passing through the Tower Station tube stop. Can be seen, read, and pictured in ten minutes or so.
As a history buff this was a big highlight. Took little time to find and you can touch it! Yes, it’s just part of the original wall of londinium but it’s free, easy to find, quick to do and there’s a nice info board explaining it all. The kids loved being to touch something so significantly old! I love history and if it would be only for the great historical value of the biggest example of the Roman city of Londinium I would think it is great but really for the uninterested in archeology there is no much to see. I enjoyed the visit, though
