It underwent major refurbishment in 2006, and was renamed the Noël Coward Theatre when it re-opened for the London premiere of Avenue Q on 1 June 2006. Noël Coward, one of Britain's greatest playwrights and actors, appeared in his own play, I'll Leave It to You, at the then New Theatre in 1920, the first West End production of one of his plays.
The theatre seats 872 patrons on four levels. The building is now a Grade II Listed structure.

Noel Coward Theatre Reviews
Fantastically talented performers on stage for Dear Evan Hansen and the venue was just what a classic theatre should be, ornate yet well kept with modern scene production. Friendly staff and a... more »
Incredible show that every teen should see - especially if prone to jumping to judgement. A beautiful story brilliantly played. Some seats are cramped but that's old theatres for you - this though is.... more »
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing All About Eve last night. The theatre is atmospheric and quaint. We only experienced the auditorium so I can’t comment on the other facilities. There are lots of steps down into the stalls and I don’t know if there’s a facility for people with reduced mobility. For us though the ambience was superb. The show itself was extremely well put together. The lead actors were wonderful and the production was very inventive. I thought nevertheless that the show was too long, especially as there was no interval. My wife however thought it was perfect so I defer as she knows better than I do! Well done Delfont Mackintosh for creating an excellent experience but please don’t charge a premium price for seats J7 and J8 in the stalls because they are no different than the surrounding seats. If you are hesitating about going to see this show- don’t- it’s worth the effort.
We thoroughly enjoyed seeing All About Eve last night. Gillian Anderson and Lily James were superb as always!! The theatre is atmospheric, quaint, and makes for an excellent venue. Having not gone to many other live productions in London we don’t have much to compare it to. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a bar available before the show - although the price for tickets were slightly on the more expensive side. Well done Delfont Mackintosh for creating an excellent experience. Would recommend going to see All About Eve soon if you can as it concludes fairly soon.
