Founded in 1857, Science Museum is one of the city’s major attractions, with nearly three million visitors each year. The museum holds an impressive collection of over 300,000 items, including the first jet engine, the oldest surviving steam locomotive, and the first prototype of the famous Clock of the Long Now, a mechanical clock designed to keep time for over 10,000 years. See hundreds of interactive exhibits, or visit the IMAX 3-D movie theater, which screens science and nature documentaries. Visit the Exploring Space gallery to see the story of human space exploration or time your trip for a "Science Night," a regular all-night special event allowing guests to spend the night inside the galleries, sleeping among the exhibits. I hate to use the most overused word 'underrated' but this museum is criminally underrated. Even on TripAdvisor its rated below the tacky touristy Madame Tussaud which I will not visit even if its... more »

My favourite part of the museum is the history of medicine pavillion.... Whenever I go to London I have to stop by the museum and it changes every time! more »

Fascinating exhibits in a wonderful Victorian building. Also, it's free, although there are plenty of opportunities to donate and it's well worth it. Suitable for all the family. There is a coffee bar but I didn't use it so can't comment. The toilets are good with sufficient cubicles in the ladies, clean and well stocked with paper and soap. Highly recommended.

This was an amazing Museum and free too, you can make a donation if you like. This place had so many wonders to grab your curiosity and open your eyes to scientific inventions that have help shape our World. The space zone was incredible, especially the piece of Moon Rock, and the moon landing display. This is a great place for all ages. The gift store is reasonably priced, for simple to expensive gifts. A really fun place to visit.
