Tower Bridge, London

Only a handful of bridges around the world have achieved iconic status, and Tower Bridge is one of them. Judging by its name and appearance, you might think the bridge is an original part of the adjacent Tower of London. Its construction, however, was completed in 1894, centuries after the fortress. Head into one tower and up to the walkway 42 m (138 ft) above the River Thames to reach the other tower. You'll have a panoramic view of the city along the way. Stop by the exhibit in the east walkway to watch a video about the bridge's construction, and to see a gallery of photos of 20 significant bridges around the world. Head into the Victorian engine rooms, where you can experience a recreation of the motor-based operation of the bridge at the time of its inauguration and view a virtual bridge-lift. If your visit to the area will be near dusk, stop to see the bridge lit up. Plan my London trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • I really enjoyed my visit here, there are great views of the river and it’s fun walking on the glass floor! Lots of interesting information and friendly staff.  more »
  • It's a must see if you are in the capital of the United Kingdom. You can climb to the top in one of the towers and walk over the river Thames in a height of about 40 meters (don't forget the glass...  more »

  • Tower Bridge is one of the best landmark I love in London, The bridge itself looks very rigid and engineering. That's why I love it. ON the other hand, you can walk along the bridge to cross the River Thames. Of course, you can also walk to the top of tower. Then you can see both side of the River Thames. I strongly suggest to walk the tower at the night. You can see beautiful night view of London. A must for every tourist in London, this iconic attraction never fails to disappoint and it certainly delivers when seen in person. It is worth walking across the bridge as it offers great views and the glass floor is incredible! It is conveniently located near Tower Hill and Tower Gateway stations so it is easily accessible. There are a lot of information about the bridge when you walk up to tower. You can also see the bottom of the bridge because there is a transparent glass floor on top of the bridge. It's a nice experience.
  • This is another iconic destination for any tourist who is visiting London and needs no introduction nor any review here. In fact, you can cover London Bridge, Tower Bridge and Tower of London by walking. The places are beautiful and located very close to each other. The view of London bridge from the Tower Bridge is beautiful from a distance. And the Tower Bridge itself gives so many opportunities to click pictures all around it. All those will straight go into your memory album.
