Trinity Buoy Wharf is the site of a lighthouse, by the confluence of the River Thames and Bow Creek on the Leamouth Peninsula, Blackwall. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The lighthouse no longer functions, but is the home of various art projects such as Longplayer. It is sometimes known as Bow Creek Lighthouse.Make Trinity Buoy Wharf part of your personalized London itinerary using our London road trip site.

Worth the trip on jubilee Line all the way to Canning Town. 10 minute walk past English National Ballet and new developments some still being built. Went for a party. Quite windy but cool to see... more »
Trinity Buoy is a little off the beaten track but well worth a visit! This wharf has London’s only lighthouse and historically was the base for the storage and maintenance of buoys used on the Thames, hence the name! The area was almost completely derelict as recently as 1998, but has been repurposed as a creative hub! This vibrant area includes sculpture, artists' studios, gallery spaces, rehearsal rooms, event spaces, cafes and a diner. We love this place and especially the buildings constructed from shipping containers!
Quite an interesting place, from the lighthouse with the Long Player Himalayan bowls, humming their way through 1000 years, to the tiny Faraday museum-in-a-shed, the container architecture and the metal sculptures dotted around. On this wonderfully hot bank holiday Sunday, it was a peaceful hidden corner of London. Well worth a stop and a wander (a café and a diner are refuelling options).
