Originally part of Ahmanson Ranch, this area was sold by Seattle-based Washington Mutual to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy in late 2003 after lengthy issues concerning development in the chaparral shrub forest and oak savanna understory and overstory Plant communities. It was previously called Ahmanson Ranch Park. It sustained severe damage during the Woolsey Fire of 2018.

Very nice to relax run or walk. Try using this to review the general map so that if you run out of battery you can manage you way back. Bring a good battery back and be ready to not have a formal connection. This a spot i wouldn’t run alone. Make sure to listen for cyclist because they may not see you till last minute and make come fast. Hope to bike this area soon myself but until then....

Always a fantastic place to visit for an easy hike there are several trails short and long and the intensity is suitable for all levels of hiking a large open space of land in the valley we've done short hourly hikes to day long hikes. They also have horse mounted rangers throughout the area monitoring and supporting the people. A safe place to enjoy get healthy the doubting me fear of bobcats on mountain lions as report in other hiking areas.
