Top of the Rock, New York City

4.7
Get above many of Manhattan's high-rises at Top of the Rock, with an unobstructed, 360-degree view from the 70th floor. You can also gaze far and wide from protected outdoor terraces on the 67th and 69th floors. After a renovation that kept it closed for several years, the deck reopened in 2005. Designed to resemble an ocean liner's deck, the observation deck offers a bird's-eye view of many of the city's iconic buildings. A timed entry system helps keep the lines shorter and the experience less crowded than at other viewing platforms in the city. Save even more time by purchasing your tickets online. • Wonderful at night ! Great view of NYC ! Comparable to the Empire State Building and great to have a different view !  more »
  • I enjoyed the green screen photo opportunity you get when you first arrive, you have the option to purchase this at the end of the tour. There was also plenty of history behind the building itself...  more »

  • What an amazing experience! We decided to book Top of the Rock instead of trying to get into Times Square on New Year's Eve. We went on New Year's Day. It was pretty tame, despite being a hallmark day. The view was absolutely incredible. You could see all the way to the top of Central Park, all the way down the the Statue of Liberty. The height of the building made it seem like Central park was tiny. You could look down between the gaps of the building and it made the cars and people look comically small. We bought the VIP pass - which is definitely worth considering over the general pass. They don't treat "VIP" lightly. As soon as we let he doorman know we had a VIP pass, he moved us quickly past the crowded line and we were the first on the elevator. The elevator makes the 80-something story ride look like light work. We were up there for a good two hours, and we weren't asked for our pass or bothered once, as the VIP pass enabled us to come and go as we pleased. Would recommend the experience.
  • Amazing views that can only be experienced in person to fully appreciate and grasp. It's a whole different world in the city when you are viewing it from on top of the building! This view gives you a much better idea of how grand this city is. It also helps get you oriented a bit seeing the whole city laid out from a birds eye's view. I've never seen so many buildings crammed into a city and still maintain a level of beauty and organization. Well done, New York City!!!
