Landmark · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
See the statue of Ton Thich on lotus, and witness incredible architecture of Tu Dam Pagoda. Built in 17th century, the temple used to be a meeting space for Buddhist monks. Stand in front of it to see yin and yang roof decorated with dragons. Firstly go through the forecourt, then continue to central chamber, and lastly see the ancient area. The pagoda stands for freedom of religion, and played important role in developing Buddhism. Walk around the garden, and take the time to appreciate the holiness of the site. • Tu Dam pagoda locates in Su Lieu Quan street. It is only 2km from the centre of Hue city. It is known for one of the oldest pogada in Viet Nam. There are three parts in the pagoda which includes the three entrance gate, the main sanctuary and the conference House. The atmosphere is fresh and peaceful. It has a big bodhi tree in the right. Let try to sit on the benches under it and see the leaves and sky. It is so wonderful. I was attracted by the tower with 7 floors. The flowers bloom in the back yard. The wind chimes creates wonderful sound that makes visiters' soul resful.
  • Beautiful and peaceful. You have to walk along the right to get into the temple. Beware: there was a lady that light an intense stick and showed you how to pray. Then she wanted one dollar.
