Create an itinerary including Kuniya Walk
A short and easy walk, Kuniya Walk offers a look at desert wildlife. If you wish to learn more about the local legends and ancestral snakes that helped create Uluru, try to find an aboriginal guide. Look for aboriginal paintings adorning the walls of the caves still used by the indigenous Anangu people. Keep an eye open and your camera ready for the many birds that soar on thermal winds during the warmer months. Remember to take water with you. Put Kuniya Walk into our Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park tour planning website to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

  • I felt the significance of the place and the history here. The Mutitjulu Gorge and Waterhole are not to be missed.

  • Of the two walks this was the better of the two, the other being the much walked Mala Walk. The scenery was more diverse and the rock formations more spectacular. The walk is about 1 km and flat.

  • Very toasty; even in the winter. We completed the base hike around the entriety of the rock. It took us about 3 hours and that is considering a moderate amount of stops (probably 5); stopping at least 5 minutes each. The flies are quite a nuisance, so I very much recommend bringing a net to make the walk enjoyable. Sunscreen is a must as well.
  • Extremely fortunate to see this place before and during rainfall- a very infrequent event
