Take in the scenery of Valley of the Winds while walking between the towering rocks and majestic domes of Kata Tjuta. The entire 7.4 km (4.6 mi) loop takes nearly three hours and requires a decent level of fitness to complete. Two lookouts provide aerial views of the domes. Keep an eye open for kangaroos, different plants, and birdlife. Wear sturdy shoes and watch your step for loose rocks. Temperatures can get quite high despite gushing winds so stay well hydrated. • Definitely do this. My partner found it the highlight of our whole central trip. The walk itself isn’t hard. There are a few parts you get puffed. There is one rock face you need to scramble up but...

  • The full circuit walk is amazing. You'll walk between two massive rock walls and there are two lovely lookouts. The walk is rated difficult but there is only one small section that is a bit...

  • Amazing. The full walk was tough and not that rewarding. Next time we would go to the 2nd lookout the return the same way. Shorter, easier walk and better scenery. Highly recommended if you're fit'ish. It is a grade 4 walk.
  • Slightly more challenging than the Uluru base walk. There are a lot of pebbles and stones on the path so hiking shoes are highly recommended. The walk was a bit hilly where you have to climb up and down huge sloping rocks. I can imagine after rain, it can get very slippery.
