Take a leisurely stroll through Walpa Gorge and admire the towering domes of Kata Tjuta, a sacred Aboriginal site. This rocky but easy return track follows a small stream through a desert wildlife refuge, ending at an observation platform between the sheer red walls of the domes. Take your time to notice the rare plants along the way and soak up the scenery while listening to the refreshing wind whistling through the gorge. Put on some sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and a hat, and remember to take plenty of water. • It's a grade 3 walk which is about right. Go for the rock formations and experience the spirit, because really there are many better Gorges around Australia. Depending on the terms I suggest 8.30am as the tour busses get in and leave early.
  • The walk was relatively easy and can be done within 40-45 mins. We started early morning and got few very cool shots.
