Despite its small size, Historical Museum offers an impressive range and quality of exhibits. You'll find a nice selection of souvenirs at the entrance. Inside, the exhibits cover the period between the Thracian times and the 20th century. The museum remains an ideal place for a quick history lesson about the area, with friendly curators ready to answer any questions and explain the general layout of the collection. Enjoy the permanent display, featuring works of local 20th century painters, or admire the building itself, constructed in the 1930's specifically to house the museum. A lovely place to while away the time. Plenty of Roman architecture alongside Bulgarian cultural items. Cost was a couple of Levs.. (less than 1 Euro) per person and well worth a visit.
