St Barbara's Church
Famous for its eye-catching spires and well-preserved medieval frescoes, St Barbara's Church counts among the finest Gothic structures in all of Europe, and is inscribed on the World Heritage List. Construction started in 1380 and continued for nearly three centuries, until the silver in the local mine began to run out in the 1550s. Finally completed in the 19th century, the building features ribbed vaulting and several side chapels, noted for their wall murals depicting everyday scenes from the life of a thriving medieval mining town. Take a good look at the frescoes, but don't forget to visit the cathedral's east terrace, offering panoramic views of the city. The cathedral was worth seeing although I think some of the comments about it being the most beautiful are not my opinion. There are a lots of beautiful areas and you can climb the stairs to the top. There are some nice views and it’s interesting to see the irfan from the back - not what I would have pictured! The grounds are nice to walk around or sit and have lunch.

The most beautiful cathedral i've ever been able to visit. Definitely worth a visit but weekdays might be best as more shops in the area would be open and restaurants too. You can go inside 160Kč for an adult. No photography or videoing allowed. No dogs allowed. Inside is spectacular and you can also follow steps in the corner to go upstairs and look down from above and also out to the front balcony which also give a beautiful view.
