Create an itinerary including Rosenborg Castle
To see an exhibit featuring a collection of Danish crown jewels and regalia, head to Rosenborg Castle, one of the country's finest examples of Renaissance architecture. Originally constructed as King Christian IV's country house in 1606, the structure underwent several major expansion projects through 1624. The elegant castle sits in the middle of one of the city's liveliest parks and serves as a royal history museum. In addition to the famous crown jewels, which are displayed in the catacombs beneath the castle, the museum collection also includes a coronation carpet and the throne chair of Denmark. • Until we reached the basement area (where the Crown Jewels and other artefacts are viewed) we found the castle rather dark and depressing. Very little in the way of descriptions of what one is...

  • A small and cute castle with an awesome garden and great outside design. I didn't have time to enter the inside, but did a good round walk that I enjoyed. Definitely worth the visit. If you're not going to enter, you can see it good enough from the gardens - the two aren't connected directly probably for security reasons.
  • We had a great time here. Very interesting, with the Danish crown treasure and a very well preserved castle. This one is a must see in Copenhagen. One ticket gets you in both the Treasury and the Castle. The castle is unique as most of it is original from the 1600’s. Very cool!
