Musee du Debarquement
Located in front of the actual vestiges of the Mulberries, Musee du Debarquement devotes its exhibits to the incredible feat of technology the British achieved in building the artificial harbor at this site. Watch the period newsreel in English and French. Impressive, dynamic scale models show how the floating docks rolled with the waves and tides. A 75-foot section of Mulberry floating bridge is on display outside. Military equipment is also on view, including an American half-track armored vehicle and a Higgins boat. Very popular - especially with coach tours which is a shame as being a very small museum there was no room to see the exhibits. Audio is ok, but doesn't work well and staff were constantly sorting...

Impressive new museum. We went to see primarily the Mulberry Harbour display which was well done with lots of information about the problems the allies had in establishing this beach head. Great...

Really cool but quite small museum, currently undergoing some much needed renovation! I was skeptical first walking into the museum, which looks and feels about as old as D-Day itself, but the quality of the exhibits and the amount I learned in such a short period of time really impressed me! Great for learning more about the Mulberry harbours, and a great collection of other pieces in outstanding condition. Also, some really cool models! Haven’t seen many of them in Normandy.

Under construction when we went but i am glad we were able to see it and explore the museum before seeing the 360 view of the beach. Minatures are set up to show the scenario that took palce. There is a small gift shop on site to buy books and other knickknacks.
