Create an itinerary including Chateau d'Auvers
Chateau d'Auvers dates back to the early years of Louis XIII and provides a historic view of royal France. Inside the castle, wander the lavish hallways and admire the historical art and furniture of those years. Outside, enjoy the French gardens and landscaping. The first terrace at the foot of the castle offers an unobstructed view of the city, the valley of the Oise, and the forest of l'Isle-Adam. The second terrace is confined to the southeast corner in a pavilion gazebo. From the third terrace, you can access an orangery facing a circular basin. A labyrinth of hedges and a collection of old iris complement these features. • Although completely renovated recently we were quite disappointed by the exhibition which wasn't very inspiring. You go from room to room and sit down to listen to a 5/10 min commentary with clips...

  • The Chateau is an exhibition space for the development of art as the railways opened up the countryside to the Paris artists. It also charts the development from traditional classical art to more modern forms. Done using short video films and static displays. Finally at the restuatant the shell covered grotto is worth viewing.
  • I looked nice being Monday it was closed so could not see it from inside....so Monday everything around is closed too.
