Chateau d'Auvers dates back to the early years of Louis XIII and provides a historic view of royal France. Inside the castle, wander the lavish hallways and admire the historical art and furniture of those years. Outside, enjoy the French gardens and landscaping. The first terrace at the foot of the castle offers an unobstructed view of the city, the valley of the Oise, and the forest of l'Isle-Adam. The second terrace is confined to the southeast corner in a pavilion gazebo. From the third terrace, you can access an orangery facing a circular basin. A labyrinth of hedges and a collection of old iris complement these features. • What an amazing, multi-dimensional art lesson in an historical, magical chateau. Even with some humor. We loved it, learned a lot about the art and times, kept moving, and just wanted more. Worth...

  • What a beautiful place within a beautiful place. If you're and art fan, impressionists, post impressionists, this is a must see. The village is cute and quiet and picturesque. Dedicated to Vincent van Gogh and immortalized in his most famous paintings. Paris is just two short train rides away. So quiet, so peaceful. Highly recommended.
  • Fun museum and nice castle! The museum is one big audiotour with different rooms. There is in every room a projected video where you can sit down and listen to the life of multiple impressionist artists.
