Known for its expansive stained glass windows, Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre is one of the few cathedrals with original stained glass. Built between 1215 and 1233, most of the Burgundian Gothic cathedral is above an 11th century crypt. The oldest portion of the building is the crypt, and the most modern feature is the small cupola atop of the spiral staircase on the western tower with a Renaissance design.     Wonderful area and town. Lots of cafes and spots for photos. Would recommend the town square which has a lot of 12th c buildings Great spot for a coffee.
