Rocher de la Vierge, a statue of the Virgin Mary, was installed in 1865 by grateful sailors who were saved from being shipwrecked by a mysterious light atop these rocks. Napoléon III built a wooden bridge to the rocks looking out over the Atlantic as an anchoring point for a dike. The original bridge couldn't withstand the elements, so it was replaced in 1887 with an iron bridge designed by Gustav Eiffel (of the tower fame). this was an amazing trip that I did twice in one day climbing and swimming around the rocks is loads of fun and a great thing to do in Biarritz

Atlantic coast in the southwestern France's Basque coast with long sandy beaches and surfing people's around... Enjoyed being there.

Plan to walk out to here at sunset if you can and you will be rewarded with some spectacular views and photo opportunities, but if you can not anytime is good to visit you still get good views and photos, this is a must do, it's free and wheelchair accessible, top tip keep your phone safe crossing the bridge it will be lost forever if dropped and the sea water splashs up t high tide.
