Brevent Cable Car offers 2,525 m (8,284 ft) views from Planpraz to the Le Brevent summit. The system was rebuilt four times, in four different decades: the 1920s, 1950s, the 1970s, and finally in 2008. Aboard you’ll join the company of fellow skiers and local residents who use the cable cars to commute between the slopes. However, you don't need to ski or live in the mountains to be stunned by the majesty of the peaks out the cable car window. With our international travel planner, Chamonix attractions like Brevent Cable Car can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Well worth the trip in good weather as you can enjoy great views across the value to Mont Blanc. There is a good little cafge with terrace at the half-way stage.

  • Very safe and relatively easy hike from Chamonix. You can do a circle and take a different route up and down. Easy to find, signs everywhere. Calculate four hours for going up and three hours for going down. I would recommend going up from west and down east. Start early to have time to look at thes city when you return. One hour should be enough for the city. Mostly tourist traps and overpriced restaurants.
  • So amazing! Wanted to go to Aiguille du Midi but as this was closed, we decided to go to Le Brevent instead and were not disappointed. The views are amazing, nice walks up there on both levels and luckily wasn't too busy.
