Pretty, but not quite as clear or blue as photos one sees. One end is a man-made dam and structure so hard to get those out of photos as well.

A fantastic 3.5 hour hike (going to Lake from the top of the ski lift, and back to the gondola), be careful that on the return it will get steep downgrade and the path is basically broken stones. It can be stressful. On the way you will see spectacular views of the mountains and atleast five Glaciers. The lake itself is deep aqua blue, be sure to go to the one on the vack and climb up for the best views.

Beautiful hike up from the bus stop Montroc, but easy enough for the whole family (or you can take a lift). Keep an eye out for the ibex, who will sit right in the middle of the trail! Some people like to jump into the lake for a swim, even with ice chunks floating in it, but I chose to hike further up into the rocks instead.
