Create an itinerary including Champagne De Castellane
Known as one of the oldest families in France dating back to the 10th century, the owners of Champagne De Castellane founded the champagne house in 1895. Housed in the historic Tower de Castellane, the facilities have the deepest cellars with an interesting museum of old tools. They use more than 100 tanks, several packaging lines, and 9 km (5 mi) of crayères (chalk cellars) to produce both vintage and non-vintage cuvée, as well as a blanc de blancs Chardonnay Champagne.

The house is currently under the ownership of Laurent-Perrier, and their cuvée vintage is the Commodore. You may recognize the brand's iconic champagne bottle by the Red Cross label on all of their Brut, Brut Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, and Demi-Sec varieties.

Your scheduled tour begins with the Traditional Champagne Museum that displays the evolving processes and tools used to harvest grapes and make champagne. Next, you have the option to tour the processing facilities with a guide who speaks English. Then you can put on your sweater for a tour of the chilly chalk cellars and stroll in part of the vineyards with permission. If you have the energy for it, climb the famous 66 m (216 ft) tower for a panoramic view of Epernay and the Marne Valley vineyards. Finally, your tour concludes with a champagne tasting. Reservations highly recommended. Champagne De Castellane is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , custom trip planner Edition.

  • I was drawn to this house of Champagne thanks to the colorful Tower. I took the tour of caves + tower. The tower could start earlier, I was the only one in the group. Enzo, the guide, introduced the history of de Castellane. Fun fact, the tower used to be a "Chateau D'eau" made by the same architect as the one who built Gare de Lyon. The best part of the Tower is sight from the top. The "caves" part was guided by Steffi, a Dutch born guide. This part of the tour is more focused on the factory and Riddling(rotation of bottle). Finally the caves are not as deep as other houses. It is at least 1km long. Of course, no Champagne tour can end without Champagne tasting. Everyone go theirs.
  • We enjoyed this very affordable but very informative guided tour a lot. You get to see the whole production process and line from the beginning all the way until the disgorgement, labelling and packaging. Great value for money.
