Create an itinerary including Falaises d'Etretat
Discover the majestic chalk cliffs of Falaises d'Etretat, which inspired artists like Eugène Boudin, Gustave Courbet, and Claude Monet. These world-renowned cliffs are home to many species of plant and animal life, including seabirds such as herring gulls, arctic fulmars, and peregrine falcons. At low tide, you can walk out onto the beach and see oyster beds dating back to the 17th century. Look for a hole in a cliff known as "trou à l'homme." Sea cabbage and red grass are protected species that grow along the coast. Many caves line the coast, with several that are accessible only by boat during calm weather. Make Falaises d'Etretat a centerpiece of your Etretat vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Etretat trip planning site.

  • There is a parking lot really close by the beach, surrounding area has so many souvenir and ice cream shops, also beach front restaurants. we hiked up to the church side, and the view is so amazing. The hike is not that bad, really easy, my 3 and 5 years old kids can even walk by themselves.
  • Amazing rocky "beach" between the two major cliffs of Étretat. It's clearly very touristic but the vibe was very relaxed and the water was clear and pure. There are some cosy terraces around to have a drink
