Strategically placed at the entrance to the seven valleys of the Lavedan, Chateau Fort of Lourdes is an ancient fortress with origins dating back to Roman times. At the foot of the 14th-century keep lies the botanical garden with its unique miniatures. Look for the altar from Saint-Pierre de Lourdes, which has been relocated to the chapel. Discover the history of the Pyrénées through the large collection at the on-site museum. On display are locally made furniture and ceramics from the 18th century, traditional costumes and tools, and a shepherd’s hut.
