Create an itinerary including Musee de la Grande Guerre
An impressive collection of 50,000 objects at Musee de la Grande Guerre tells the story of the World War I, as well as its impact on society as a whole. Everyday objects, like first aid kits and stoves from the private collection of World War I expert Jean-Pierre Verne tell the story of past hardship. Innovative technology allows you to immerse all of your senses into the first World War with visual frescoes, hands-on objects, olfactory presentations, and ambient sounds. Whether you're most interested in tactics and strategy, daily life in the trenches, women's role in the war, or some other facet, you'll likely find a theme-based exhibit to explore. A visit to Musee de la Grande Guerre represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Meaux trip itinerary app to plot your vacation.

  • This large museum, housed in a modern building which like so many others is no great beauty on the outside, has a comprehensive collection of WW1 artefacts beautifully and very imaginatively...

  • Solely on WW I. Well organized, lots of video, and extensive English placards. The tour starts with a slide show that takes you back to 1870’s and the tensions leading up to the war. Curation is excellent.
  • Very interesting Great War museum, rich on real exhibits, very realistic representation of soldier's life in the trenches and human suffering. I also recommend for families with children. Fully satisfied. Small recommendation is to improve - better indication of the direction of the museum tour.
