Picturesquely covered in ivy with twin-towered wings, the family house dates back to the 18th century. They've been producing wine since 1934, and remain best known for their Monopole wines, Les Ruelles premier cru red, and La Mission premier cru white. Production tops 14,500 cases per year, with vineyards spanning over 37 hectares (93 acres). Beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens surround the house, and the knowledgeable staff leads wine tasting sessions by appointment only. Nice wines from multiple producers in the portfolio, in a gorgeous setting. Being the odd season, we did not get to tour the Chateau, but were treated to sweeping views of the Mercurey appellation...

Very enjoyable visit! Hosted by the owner who is passionate about his product (as you'd expect), good humoured, welcoming, and about as warm and friendly as anyone can get. Magnificent wines. Amaury wants guests to be happy, and we certainly were.

The door was shut with a notice to call someone. Within 5 mins a nice man appeared and patiently took us through a 6-wine tasting (3 red, 3 white). Not sure if there’s a degustation fee but we bought a bottle of red.
