The late 19th century mansion, Maison Mantin houses paintings, books, photographs, miniature objects, stuffed animals, ceramics, minerals, carvings, and rare and unusual objects gathered by Louis Mantin. View over fifty branded furniture styles from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The Renaissance style of Henri II is characteristic of the eclectic taste of the period and was inspired by the furnishings of castles in the second half of the 19th century. We took a quick stroll through the exhibition, and the guided tour. The tour itself is only in French. Our guide really nailed it. He was so sympathetic and enthusiastic and it was fun and interesting to watch him. On top of that his English was very good and he translated the main facts for us, which made the tour through this amazing house even better.

This is a very cool museum experience, bringing you into a perfectly restored late 19th C bourgeois house. Everything is original, a snapshot in time, as the owner dictated in his will over a century ago. Fascinating place, nice, knowledgeable guide who speaks English. Highly worth a trip to the delightful town of Moulin!
