At Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse in 1830, Saint Catherine Labouré saw three visions of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. In one of those visions, Mary asked St. Catherine to create a medal with the following invocation: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The faithful believe the medal, known as the Miraculous Medal, can protect them from harm and perform miracles. The chapel now serves as a shrine for pilgrims. Here you will find the graves of St. Catherine and St. Vincent de Paul, founder of the Sisters of Charity, who operate the shrine. Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

  • This little out-of-the-way chapel receives many pilgrims because of the supposed miracle that occurred here. I came to see the architecture which was pleasant enough.

  • It was God's Will that I visit this place. Since I got an unexpected extra day in Paris from a flight cancellation, I wanted to very dearly visit this very famous Church. In 1830, a 24 year old...

  • A lot of praying people, many attendees of the every weekday Holy Mass at 10.30. A place of pray and silence. Definately worth of spending some time there!
  • This place has an undescribable energy. It is beautiful and very, very special - and the story behind Catherine Labouré is impressive and humbling at the same time.
