La Sorbonne reopenedin 2014 after three years of renovation work on this historical medieval building in the Latin Quarter, home of the former University of Paris. The library is famous for its collection of more than 2 million works. Today the site houses several higher education and research institutions such as Paris-Sorbonne University. The only remnant of the old 1253 college is the traces of the chapel visible in the courtyard.
