Formerly the Musée de Cluny, Musee De Cluny houses a variety of important medieval artifacts, particularly its tapestry collection. The most famous tapestry of the collection is the 15th-century "La Dame à la Licorne" (The Lady and the Unicorn). Other notable works include early medieval sculptures from the 7th and 8th centuries, as well as gold, ivory, antique furnishings, stained glass, and illuminated manuscripts. You'll also marvel at the building itself, from its colorful stained glass room to the Roman baths and the "Pillar of the Boatmen" carved in the 1st century CE. It's a very interesting museum, with a lot of English explanations too, newly renovated, full of beautiful items and statues, and it's also home to the most famous tapestry series "The Lady and The Unicorn". The employees are extremely helpful and polite, the little lady at the Cafe was a true sunshine in my day with her smile and helpfulness. Foods and drinks are completely affordable by today's standards and it's good. The shop is well furnished and has a lot of interesting books that can interest both novice and the connoisseur. Go early during a weekday and you will almost have the museum the yourself! We used a Paris Museum Pass and it's a priority ticket here so we didn't have to wait.

The collection of Medieval artifacts mostly from Christian sites is amazing and a treasure trove that broadens my understanding of early Christianity. Pieces are in incredible shape. I love the museum guiding visitors through various themes of artifacts as I got more insights into European culture from many centuries prior. This museum is a gem for those of us who love to see historical objects . Plus the Roman Baths of the 2nd or 3rd century are well preserved giving more insights to our European history.
