The fine sandy beach at Camping d'Arone is crescent shaped and surrounded by pink granite rocks and boulders against a mountainous backdrop. You can drive along the scenic mountainside road to get to the beach past Capo Rosso and over the Porto Gulf. A monument inland from the beach serves as a reminder of the Casablanca submarine that delivered the first firearms and provisions to the resistance in February 1943, which facilitated the birth of the underground movement during World War II. Beautifully and isolated campsite, about 7 minutes walk to the sea. The beach is in a fantastic location, the famous Calanches are nearby. You can easily find shady spots on the site, the sanitary facilities are good enough. Good for relaxing. Bar and restaurant on the beach (not part of the campsite).

Perfect camping. Basic. You get what you expect. You get a nice place. Plenty of shadow, wry few lucky having shadow the whole day. Less than 10 mins to the beach. The reception is friendly if you are friendly. We are leaving after two days. We have the feeling that we might regret it - and come back. And a really beautiful beach.
