Built on a rocky edge at the beginning of the 12th century, La Tour Cesar protects the former Earl’s Palace and dominates the valley. The building itself gives you a glimpse of the everyday life at the tower eight centuries ago, and the view from the top offers an enchanting landscape view. Be warned that climbing the stairs is no short task, and the passageway can become quite narrow.
In addition, La Tour Cesar is a strong symbol of power for the Earls of Champagne. The keep’s highly complex layout gives it a unique and colossal appearance, making it one of the most original stately dwellings of its time. It used to be a watchtower, a prison, a bell tower, and a place of military retreat. Start your trip to Provins by creating a personalized itinerary on Inspirock.

Really enjoyed my trip to Provins with friends. The tower was a great historical experience. We got to go inside (I believe we purchased tickets) and it was very cool like going back in time. It was a bit narrow so be mindful of that.

Provins is really cool, but this tower is kind of overrated. It is considered the best and most unique monument of the city, but it was massively underwhelming. All it offer is a great panoramic view of the town and the neighbouring areas.. And that's it. For a 4.5 Euros entry ticket, I kind of expected more
