Musee du Debarquement Utah Beach is a commanding monument and museum dedicated to the memory of the Allied troop landings in Normandy. Built on the strategic WN5 bunker where U.S. troops first landed in 1944, the museum recounts the landings of American troops on French soil, a feat considered by many historians to be the most important military operation in recent history. Within the museum, many valuable objects tell the story of the landings. • Our tour guide recommended this museum as one of her favorites that we could visit on our own. It tells the story of Utah Beach very effectively. It is the only D-Day museum that we visited.

  • Utah beach is easy to visit as all things to see are within a few hundred meters radius. The central place occupies the D-day museum set in the center in a bunker like edifice. We found it to be the best one along with the Bayeux museum, very well displayed, easy to navigate and informative. Likewise the Omaha museum, I advise buying a Utah beach labeled empty jar that you fill later with sand down on the beach - a very original souvenir.
  • Good size museum for World War II and Utah Beach landing. Paid admission. Spent an hour, which was a little rushed with time. 90 minutes would be perfect if you want to take in every interest. The path through the museum is easy to follow and has some seating to rest if needed. I would recommend others to visit if they're in the area.
