Bois de Moutiers
Listed as a historical monument and a Remarkable Garden of France, Bois de Moutiers is well known for its beautiful rhododendrons, azaleas, and magnolias, which were introduced and naturalized among local flora. The house and gardens you will explore, both dating from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, are first-class examples of the work from the famous English partnership of architect Edwin Lutyens and garden designer Gertrude Jekyll.
You will find a large park overlooking the sea and formal gardens surrounding a manor house, where the original owner's descendants still live, come together to create Bois de Moutiers. Just a warning… this wonderful house and garden has been close for a few years, see third web site. It has a new owner and one can only hope it will reopen soon

Lovely gardens; over looking the sea with the most beautiful views of topery and flowers. There's also the very pretty woods full of lushous greens as well as interesting trees and jungle like plants. Pretty good place to take children to run free and have fun while parents watch the sea view. There's also a beautiful house to look around but not as good for children. Parking is also free and most staff speak fluent English. Would definitely go again and everybody should take a look if in the area.

This place was well maintained and had many beautiful floral trees. Being someone who seeks out a more natural setting though, I disliked how many tourists were there even on a weekday. You never we're able to have too much time alone since everyone follows the trail. None the less, it was a nice walk on a spring day..only a little chilly in the shady parts.
