Climb the east end tower of Stadt Rothenburg ob der Tauber to take in the views. A tight squeeze at the top of a ladder awaits those who brave the climb. Signs are a bit confusing. To climb the tower, go through the town hall's door on the side facing the square. After climbing the stairs, cross the big hall to go through the turnstile. You'll be asked for a small fee at the top. The structure began in 1250 with a Gothic-designed rear half. In 1572, construction began on the front half, crafted with Renaissance flair.
