Have a family fun day at Tayto Park, an amusement park centered around one of the country's most popular brands of chips and popcorn. Opened in 2010, the park features a zoo where you can come face-to-face with unusual farm animals, including miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, Ouessant sheep, and Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. Other family-friendly attractions include rock-climbing walls, mechanical bull rides, live puppet shows, and face-painting activities. Take a self-guided factory tour to see the popular potato chips made from start to finish, and then visit the park's teahouse, built into a giant sycamore tree and serving tea, coffee, light snacks, and homemade ice cream. A fantastic day out for the whole family. I had my reservations about how good and how expensive an Irish theme park might be but I was very pleasantly surprised on both counts. The theme park attractions are excellent by any standards, the Roller Coaster is the star of the show. Plenty of rides for the younger kids too. The Dino Dash roller coaster new for 2022 is perfect for everybody. Also there is a new board showing live waiting times for all of the main attractions to help plan your day. There is so much to do that on a full day there we didn't get to do all the rides we wanted and didn't get to see all of the animals either. As for the value, the tickets were on a par with a similar sized theme park in Europe that I have visited, food was good value with generously sized portions and was very tasty.. The staff all over the park are very professional, friendly and easy to deal with. Some of the usual souvenirs like the photos from the rides are a bit expensive for what they are but overall it is a great value day out. We enjoyed our first visit so much we upgraded our day tickets to annual passes and have been back several times since. Top marks all round.

Fabulous park, a great little area for the young ones. If they are not tall enough for the rides they can still go on the train. Once they are 1.0 they are tall enough for some of the rides. Then there is an animal park to walk around too. My little boy is only 4 and was only tall enough for 4 rides but he absolutely love it. He went on the train about 20 times and the little toy horses that go around on a track. There are two great playgrounds, one entirely of sand. There is also a water play area. We were there for 6.5 hours and I still had to encourage him to leave. The food and snacks are not expensive. It's a great day out and if you have older kids then it's well worth the money. For the little ones I would rather have paid about 20 euro as I had to pay too even though I was only on the train with him etc. Well worth a visit 😁
