Clare Heritage and Genealogical Centre, Corofin

This is a little late but as my husband and I are hoping to visit Ireland again in the not too distant future I thought I would warn visitors to this centre about the most rude and impolite woman we encountered during our 6 mths living in Ireland. We had organised an appointment with a woman at the centre ( cannot remember her name) in mid November 2018 and were greeted by this horrible woman who didn't introduce herself and just ushered us to her desk and then continued to keep us waiting while she took a lengthy phone call. When she eventually gave a a few mins of her time she was very curt and asked the family names we were enquiring about. She said without exact date of deaths she couldn't give us much information and instead kept asking for 250 euros to further her search. We left saying we would think about it. I would advise anyone searching for information about their relations from Co Clare to search clareroots.ie for a far greater source of information. Stay away from Corofin!
