Made famous by writer James Joyce, St Stephens Green has been Dublin's favorite picnic spot for over a century. Opened in 1880, the park is adjacent to one of the city's major shopping streets, drawing equal numbers of nature lovers and shoppers in need of a place to rest. The largest of Dublin's Georgian gardens, this 9 hectare (22 acre) urban park once provided a marshy setting for public whippings and executions. Today, the elegantly landscaped garden features Georgian buildings and statues of some of Ireland's most celebrated figures, including Arthur Guinness, Robert Emmet, and W.B. Yeats. Located in the heart of Dublin, the park is accessible by tram from almost anywhere in the city. Find out how to plan Dublin trip without stress by asking Inspirock to help create an itinerary.

  • Nice park on a sunny or dry day. But in the end, it's just a park, and there aren't many places to sit. Plenty of birds, however.

  • A beautiful place to be ❤️. While entering this place, your mind will say it is colorful. It is so great to see that they maintained the flowers very well. You can get yourself a nice walk after shopping. The place has a small lake inside too. Your kids will enjoy their time here. You can easily spend hours here. I recommend this place.
  • What a beautiful park! Well maintained. You’ll see many different flowers - bright and brilliantly coloured! Grass is pretty. There’s a children’s playing area, water, loads of seating options, swans and beautiful birds and what not. Great to walk around.
