Home to the same family for nearly eight centuries, Malahide Castle sits just a few minutes north of the capital city, easily accessible by car or public bus. The estate dates back to the 12th century, when Richard Talbot (a knight serving King Henry II) received these lands as part of a royal grant. Talbot's descendants lived here until 1976, expanding and modifying the original structure over the centuries. Take a guided tour to see the interior of the castle, noted for its Talbot family portraits and decorative carvings. The surrounding parkland also contains several popular attractions, including a museum housing a large collection of antique dolls and toys. The castle and grounds are beautiful and we very much enjoyed our tour. The staff is amazing. I messaged about concert parking and got a helpful response and, even better, Julie-Ann remembered my question and sent me a link to parking reservations over a week later. I was impressed she remembered! If you do attend a concert, the venue is so great. It's spacious with plenty of vendors, restrooms, and water stations. We'd definitely attend another event here if we're ever back in Dublin.

The lovely atmosphere place, easy to travel from Dublin centre. A small Castle, one of rare you can see inside. Beautiful gardens and great cafe for coffee/ tea or food, healthy and delicious. The village Skerries is great for a walk near the sea. All pleasures concentrated in one location.
