Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Tre Cime di Lavaredo or “the three peaks of Lavaredo” measure up at 3 km (1.9 mi) in elevation. They have long represented a border or a battleground: You’ll still find fortifications, man-made caves, and plaques commemorating World War I in this area. Although these mountains are accessible by toll road, you can experience the best views via excursions on foot. If you don’t have much mountaineering experience, consider the circuit around the base of the peaks. This has been the most beautiful hike of my holiday in Italy. Weather check is a must before planning your hike as it was rainy and foggy in the morning and within 30 mins it was sunny. There are different parking spaces which charge around €30 and whether it is vacant or not is already displayed. You have to plan an early morning hike as it gets crowded as time passes, yet again advisable to take an anti-clockwise hike so that you can see the tri cime peaks first and then a beautiful valley. There is a refreshment hut when you exactly reach the midway, you can sip coffee/beer to chill but it is advisable to carry your own food as the restaurant only takes up your time. The loo at the restaurant is not at all clean so the hygienist are advised to use the pay and use WC. It’s a beautiful hike and can be completed within 3 hours. Amazing views and great cardio… loved it :)

Tre Cime is a great hike. We arrived early at the car park (around 8am in early July) and there was around 300 spaces left. It cost €30 but it was well worth it. The hike to Tre Cime has a great path and has huts along the way for a drink or some food. At the top of the saddle you get great views. The walk to this point took us around 45 minutes and the views were spectacular. We didn’t do the full loop as we went to Cadini viewpoint in the morning which is 100% worth doing when at Tre Cime.
