"The church of San Nicolò in Coccau was built around the year 1000 as a simple chapel, enlarged and modified several times, up to the current structure, and was completed during the first half of the 1400s. It contains a spectacular cycle of frescoes that narrate the latest phases of the life of Christ, from the Flagellation to the Resurrection and part of the Last Supper, frescoes that date back to the end of the 1300s or the very first years of the 1400s. Their uniqueness and extraordinary importance is given by the fact that they blend the Italian and French pictorial styles. In the church there is also another fresco, of considerable importance for local history, depicting "The Adoration of the Magi", presumably executed close to 1532, in memory of the stop that the Emperor Charles V made in Tarvisio precisely in that year.
