  • It was really a surprise, if you only consider the mountain context. Excellent tourist reception. Today's guide inside the really competent museum. The museum consists of two interesting areas: one seventeenth century, the other contemporary. My personal taste preferred the former, but my opinion is subjective. What is marvelous are the paintings by Preti, distributed between the museum and the adjacent Baroque Church of San Domenico. The choice of the low cost of the ticket is commendable, just € 5. I highly recommend access to the museum, as it also includes a visit to the splendid Baroque Church of San Domenico, where the almost total presence of the priest's paintings is located. The Calabrian artist native of Traversa, from now on, will attract my interest. I would not have imagined that Sila could offer us so much art. Another admirable artist on display is De Bellis. In the area, the ideal is to associate the museum with an overnight stay or a visit to the Mancuso village. The latter unfortunately to be avoided in the winter, as it is desolate, but also in this case it remains my subjective opinion. Calabria is surprising. Who else has the opportunity to offer paintings of the highest artistic value to a splendid and fascinating forest?
  • The museum is the cradle of the art of Mattia Preti. Surely the offer and communication with the public should be improved.
