For a sobering reminder of the horrors of nuclear warfare, visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. One of the museum's two wings details the history of Hiroshima, the development of and decision to use the bomb, and the following discussions surrounding nuclear warfare and disarmament. The other wing goes into detail about the devastating damage and longer-term effects of the bomb. Don't miss the A-Bomb dome on site, one of the few buildings in the area that has been left in the same condition since the day of the bombing. • Extremely important and moving museum to document one of the most horrific events in modern history. Very powerful and somber museum that details some of the most horrific and graphic photos, accounts, and facts of the event. There was no censoring and filtering of information. They gathered as much information as possible and put it on display to show the truth. That is very commendable. Being Japanese and American, I have watched several documentaries on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, but they never fully detailed how horrific the conditions really were. This museum shows the most unfiltered and accurate accounts of the event. I don't think anyone can leave the museum and not be affected by it. It definitely has changed my thinking completely on the events.
  • Beautiful park. Spent a good couple hours checking all the different spots around the park. Very nice flow and easy to walk around. The weather was great and we had a great experience while visiting.
