It was really great to go to Landing Beach and learn of the history there. Later in the week we took jetskis out to the tanks which remain off the shore. A must do!

Great place for a weekend getaway. Saipan, is part of the Mariana islands and a US commonwealth. Here one can experience a setting that is quite spectacularly beautiful, with beaches, hiking courses, scuba diving, wildlife, golfing, historical places, and abandoned ones. It is a photographers paradise as it offers great views to capture. The underwater world is rich and amazing making it a go to place for superb scuba diving. Excellent reefs, white beaches, clownfish colonies, underwater caves, WWII shipwrecks, underwater WWII munitions dumps, and underwater WWII plane wreck offer diving that appeals to almost every type of diver. Grotto, an underwater limestone cavern plummeting seventy feet at its deepest point. The Grotto is home to a city of sea life: turtles, coral, and reef sharks, etc. Bird Island Sanctuary is home to thousands of birds and other marine species. During low tide, one can actually walk out to the island, but with caution as to not step on Coral. There is a beautifully hidden beach nearby. There is also a great lookout point of the island (accessible by car) for some great photography. When you visit Saipan, you will not be disappointed an what your eyes can feast on .
