I saw Mandarin Lake as part of a kayak tour. The Mandarin fish are difficult to spot but there are so many fish to look at if you can't find them. The visibility is amazing for snorkeling.

This spot is like time travel back to the prehistoric ages. It is so quiet, peaceful, and ruggedly gorgeous. We swam out (bring fins) but did not see any mandarin fish. I heard they are quite shy..... more
